Each Head of Year is responsible for supporting a year group with their academic progress and welfare. They celebrate progress using our rewards system.
Heads of Year monitor students' attendance and progress; if there are concerns they work in partnership with parents, staff and where relevant outside agencies to put an action plan in place that will support the student in improving. In order to achieve this task Heads of Year lead a team of Tutors and Academic Tutors who support them.
Behaviour Support Leaders work in partnership with Heads of Year to support students in the year group. They have a specific focus on behaviour issues which includes bullying.
Behaviour Support Leaders monitor the behaviour of students carefully and if there are any concerns they work with staff, parents and if relevant outside agencies to support students in improving their behaviour. If the behaviour concern persists students are often referred to the Student Support Centre for more intensive support.
