ICT is both a subject and a skill you will use both now and throughout your life. Some students may wish to plan their career around the development of their IT skills, knowledge and understanding; but whatever you decide to do you can be sure that the use of IT and new technologies will be an important part of your future career.
ICT lessons will offer you the opportunity to "show off" the skills you already have in addition to learning new skills.
All students have dedicated ICT lessons during Key Stage 3. Students will be introduced to the Budmouth systems and software, and will be encouraged to use ICT to complete work for other lessons across the curriculum.
Our current programme of study is being re-designed to reflect the many changes in recent technologies. We provide a platform from which students can learn the fundamentals of computer hardware, computing terminology, animation techniques and web design in addition to using a variety of programing tools.
Students will understand the development of solutions to specific IT related problems such as using macros to automate elements of different software. Additionally students will have access to a range of software and we encourage the exploration of open source applications, ensuring they can showcase a range of skills across different software platforms.
