This broad course offers students a wide range of creative, exciting and stimulating opportunities to explore their interests in art and design in ways that are personally relevant and truly developmental in nature.
Students will be encouraged to experiment with and develop their skills with a wide variety of materials and techniques including drawing, painting, printing, sculpture, graphics, textiles, digital photography and ceramics.
Students will be shown how to develop their own ideas, how to stretch their imaginations and how to inform their own work by researching the work of artists, designers and craftspeople. The portfolio will include one sustained project plus other work assessed during the course.
Unit 1: Portfolio (60%)
Unit 2: Externally set task completed in class (40%).
This exam consists of 6 weeks development time, followed by a 10 hour sustained focused study.
