This course will develop your knowledge, understanding and practical skills related to food and nutrition. You will apply principles of preparation, food science, nutrition and healthy eating. Students on this course will undertake a registered online Food & Hygiene certificate.
The topics you will study will include:
- Nutrition, diet and health throughout life
- Factors affecting consumer choice
- Nutritional, physical, chemical and sensory properties of foods in storage, preparation and cooking
- Food hygiene and safety.
Students will study "the theory of food preparation and nutrition" in readiness for the exam
