Dance


This course is designed to meet the needs of students who wish to study dance in depth. On this course, you will gain experience of choreography and performance and you will be encouraged to think critically about dance. What is most important is your enthusiasm, interest and willingness to experiment and perform dance in the widest sense.

Taught Through:
Demonstration; lectures; student presentations; theory; workshops with professional dance companies; peer/teacher assessment; tutorials; theatre visits; individual study.

Professional Dancer; Dance Therapist; Teacher; Arts Administrator; Journalist; Musical Theatre and Arts Marketing.

Entry Recommendations:
Grade 4 or above in Dance GCSE, MERIT in BTEC Level 2
Performing Arts (if taken) and Grade 4 in English GCSE.
Demonstrable competent dance ability.

Year 2:
- 1 Written Exam
- 3 Practical Exams
