The design and Technology department is made up of six specialist areas:-
Textiles, Resistant Materials, Food Technology, Electronics, Graphics and Engineering. The department deliver active practical learning experiences that are underpinned with technical theory lessons. The learning is focussed towards students passing their GCSE's and A levels with very good personal grades. Many either go to University, take a modern apprenticeship, or go on to further education courses that lead to employment.
Key Stage 3
All students have the opportunity to practise Textiles, Resistant Materials, Electronics, Food and Graphics. This is a two year Key stage 3 programme. Each area has its own dedicated rooms, fully equipped to give the students a feel for the materials, processes and develop the design skills required to take the subject further as an option in Key Stage 4.
