At Budmouth, students who study Media at GCSE and A level have an interest in the Media industry and usually a specific interest in either film, broadcast television or radio, gaming or social and interactive media. Most are reluctant to be parted from their portable media and they are already avid producers of blogs and posts, short films and websites or they participate in on-line gaming, social media or their favourite pass time is catching up the latest reality TV show. Some just simply can't stay away from the cinema.

The mass-media now forms the back bone of our society. It influences everything, from what we eat, our body shape and how we dress to who we vote for and our central aspirations in life. Media Studies enables students to examine the cultural, sociological political and economic effects of the Media on our society. Students are taught how to critically analyse and deconstruct a variety of media products across all platforms. They also produce media a variety of media products across all platforms.
