In Years 7 and 8 teaching groups are streamed to tailor the learning for individual needs. The improvement and development of basic reading and writing skills is a focus in order to ensure success at Key Stage 4. Work is marked regularly and specific feedback, both oral and written, is given to move students on to the next level. Reading is a particular focus, with lessons timetabled for independent reading.
