Unit 1 Performing Music (Coursework)
One Solo and one Group performances on your instrument or voice. Recorded in the studio.
 
Unit 2 Composing Music (Coursework)
2 Compositions or 2 arrangements or 1 composition and 1 arrangement. Based on two different areas of study, for any choice of instrument and style.
 
Unit 3 Listening & appraising Exam
1 1/2 hour written exam with questions relating to the 12 set works within the four Areas of Study.
Section A = 8 questions requiring short answers based on the extract from the set works given by CD.
Section B = Questions requiring an extended answer (12 marks) based on the set works.
 
Assessment

Unit 1 Performance = 30%
Unit 2 Composition = 30%
Unit 3 Exam = 40%
  • Extra related Composing, Performing & Listening.
  • Research, presentations and homework.
