Course Information
 
OCR Cambridge Nationals is a science qualification that develops a wide range of highly desirable, transferable skills through practical means.
 
The OCR Cambridge National in Science enables students to explore the way in which scientific ideas have developed, how these ideas have been applied and how these applications have affected our lives. Practical and investigatory activities help students explore the way in which scientists develop and test their ideas and enable them to develop both practical skills and skills in analysing, interpreting and evaluating evidence.
 
There are 3 units;
 
R071: How scientific ideas have an impact on our lives.
R072: How scientific ideas have developed.
R073: How scientists test their ideas.
 
Assessment
 
R071: portfolio of work, including nine assessment tasks (which includes Using Energy, Keeping Healthy and Materials for a Purpose)
R072: assessed via a 1 hour written exam.
R073: extended practical investigation.
